The English Mixed Martial Arts Association (EMMAA) is proud to announce its partnership with Sporting Wellness as our official mental health and well-being provider. 
The collaboration comes as the result of the growing recognition for the overall well-being of MMA fighters, and EMMAA’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to its members. 
 
As part of the partnership, EMMAA has become an official stakeholder of Sporting Wellness, giving its members access to a suite of well-being services with no costs, no waiting lists, no minimum illness requirements and 100% confidentiality. 
 
These services provided by Sporting Wellness include: 
 
* Counselling sessions 
* 24/7/365 support line & LiveChat 
* 24/7/365 professional legal guidance 
* An Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Programme 
* Wisdom AI - a platform for instant counselling advice 
* Proactive well-being tools & engaging features 
 
The partnership between Sporting Wellness and EMMAA represents a significant step forward in the recognition of the importance of positive mental health in MMA. We are sending a clear message that the well-being of our athletes, coaches and volunteers is a top priority for EMMAA and we are committed to providing our members with the support they need to thrive both inside and outside the cage. 
 
In a statement, the CEO of Sporting Wellness, Callum Lea said: “We are thrilled to be working with the English MMA Association. Having positive mental health and emotional well-being can only be seen as performance enhancing for MMA fighters and it’s such an encouraging sign to the see the EMMAA treating the mental health of its members just as seriously as their physical health. Furthermore, in a first for Sporting Wellness, we will be opening up our support system to the EMMAA coaching staff and the EMMAA volunteer staffing team as well as it’s fighters which is a fantastic step forward for us”. 
 
EMMAA Vice President and Head of Performance, Paul Reed said "I am incredibly proud of the partnership formed between EMMAA and Sporting Wellness. EMMAA have funded and invested in support for up to 500 members to access mental health support without waiting lists or having to see a GP.  Any EMMAA member can use this service - athletes, coaches or EMMAA volunteers and the service is completely confidential. For all we do and facilitate in our duty of care for our athletes and coaches, knowing we are giving our members peace of mind that there is somebody there that they can speak to, away from the gym and away from their personal life, is a huge step forward to help remove the stigma attached to mental health issues in combat sport".
